We LOVE our group fitness instructors here at APEX!  They are the best of the best and we can’t wait for you to meet them!  Each instructor has his or her own story and life experiences that make them unique and special in the best ways possible.  Today I spoke with Jessi and learned about her family and fitness journey – she is truly a ray of light that we are so excited to share with you!  And seriously… that dog of hers is just the cutest ever!!!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Married to my husband Josh, I have a dog Maisy. I own a salon in the village of Hamburg. I enjoy volunteering at my church and being on the worship team there.

Everyone’s fitness journey is unique.  What has yours looked like?

I have always enjoyed fitness. I danced my whole life growing up from a young age. I started out approximately 15 years ago teaching Zumba. It took off from that point gaining my certifications in group fitness and spinning. I enjoy the group activity and the energy that everyone can bring when working hard together.

What is your best piece of fitness/health advice?

Don’t ever give up on yourself, we are all a work in progress. You are worth taking time out of your day to do something just for you.

What is your favorite healthy food?

Sweet potatoes

What is your favorite guilty, splurge food?

Ice cream

What personally, is your biggest challenge when staying on track to reach your fitness goals?

Making the time to eat clean and prepare my food for the week.

What is your favorite quote/personal mantra?

Let your light shine.

What inspires/motivates you?

People who have physical limitations or disabilities and choose to not let it control their life. I am always inspired by people who keep a positive attitude in a difficult situation.

When people Focus too much on their physical appearance and forget to just have fun in the class
