APEX Class Descriptions
Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport that allows striking and grappling, both standing and on the ground, using techniques from various combat sports and martial arts.
Meditation with Shiv
Meditation is a precise technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is totally different from the normal waking state. It is the means for fathoming all the levels of ourselves and finally experiencing the center of consciousness within. Meditation is not a part of any religion; it is a science, which means that the process of meditation follows a particular order, has definite principles, and produces results that can be verified.
APEX Boxing –
This class allows for participants to work 1-1 with instructors in order to learn and understand the basics of Boxing and MMA. Participants will use boxing gloves to hit heavy bags and mits and have an opportunity to gain strength and endurance. Gloves are encouraged but not necessary.
APEX Power Pump
A popular interval class that focuses on building muscle.
Participants will focus on building strength through the use of dumbbells, kettlebells, and medicine balls.
Strength training is key to increasing metabolism and burning stored body fat. PowerPump is a challenging workout that can easily be modified to fit your fitness level.
Our spinning classes are group workouts on stationary exercise bikes in which participants go through a series of phases, from warm-ups to more intense levels and back to cool-downs, all set to energetic music and led by our dynamic, motivational instructors.
Yoga/ Yoga Pilates Fusion
With our highly skilled instructors, settle into your spirit and calm your soul all while focusing on your health and well being.
A fun-loving and addictive dance workout. Check your worries at the door – no dance experience required here. Sweat to easy to follow dance steps set to some seriously awesome music. So, get ready to let loose, feel wild and free, and dance yourself into glory! Even if you walk in thinking you can’t, you’ll walk out knowing you can!
This class will “kick your butt”! Cardio Combat is a high-energy, martial-arts inspired workout that is set to motivating music. It is totally non-contact and there are no complex moves to master. You’ll release stress, have a blast and leave feeling like a champ!
Concentrated AB-centric floorwork to strengthen core muscles and build core stability PLUS the high-energy calorie TORCHING moves found in Cardio Combat. Burn fat fast and get chiseled during this high-energy, uplifting class!
Barre classes mix elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training, and the moves are choreographed to motivating music. In each energizing and targeted workout, you’ll use the barre and exercise equipment such as mini-balls and small hand weights to sculpt, slim and stretch your entire body. Low impact and appropriate for all fitness levels.
“FitStart” is a class that is perfect for the true beginner at the gym. Low impact aerobic exercises are paired with moves that will increase muscle strength, improve flexibility and balance and help you progress toward higher fitness goals. There will be plenty of variety and modifications to accomodate all levels of fitness. This class is perfect for you if:
You are a first timer at the gym and don’t know where to begin.
You have had a recent surgery or are recovering from an injury and need to modify your workouts for the time-being.
You are a senior citizen looking to get out and get moving in a group setting.
An aerobic/dance combination class. The class has a blend of fun music, with full warm up, 5 minutes of abdominal work, and stretching at the end.
Strengthen & Stretch
Come experience the benefits of stretching in this lower impact class! Strengthen & Stretch promotes better sleep, clearer minds, and easier mobility. This is a great overall wellness class that will revitalize you by implementing bodyweight, stability balls and lower impact Pilates moves. All ages and fitness levels encouraged.
Bootcamp is a class that mixes resistance training with cardio in order to raise your heart rate and burn calories! Bodyweight exercises as well as the inclusion of free weights will be used to build muscle mass. This class is geared toward all levels of fitness.
